If you have a late 944 N/A, the 951 rear calipers can be attached with a little work. Thatd be a cool addition!

951 calipers are direct bolt up on the rear for all year cars.. however you still need to run 16 inch wheel. I dont think you could get a 15-inch wheel over the caliper.

I'm pretty sure pads can be sourced through one of the racing supply houses, I know several of my catalogs list wilwood pads in several sizes...

however I don't know why you would unless you wanted some weird compound... Travis is the man to support for sure. I've been looking at this kit for a while but will likely still hold off a bit more anyway... still compared to sourcing other calipers, this is a value for ease of installation and stopping power.

The Wilwood brake pad size used on the Big Brake kit is uncommon (Wilwood size 7816). I think it's used only on the Wilwood DynaPro, so I haven't seen any other online reseller carry them. Plus, why wouldn't you support Travis?

They are great upgrade relative to old beaten stock calipers I used to have. My main gripe is that I toasted them on the first track day (using "A" compound) and no longer look pretty. Very aggressive brakes -- so aggressive that I am consistently locking up my front wheels (I don't have ABS) and flat-spotting tires. I think I need to upgrade my rears...

One thing to keep in mind is that if you combine travis' front kit with a different larger rear caliper you are going to significantly change the bias. The bias on the wildwood kit is regulated by the sizes of the pistons.

No bias valve needed. I have the big brake kit with E compound pads on cross drilled rotors, Ferodo pads on cross drilled rotors in the rear. They brake VERY well ! and are balanced front to rear very well. I use them on the street and on the track at last years Fest. I'm extremely pleased with them.
What more could you want, it's a true bolt on kit for far better braking and it fits under 15" wheels.

The rennbay kit is designed to assume you have the stock n/a rear calipers. Travis spent a great deal of time working with the piston sizes to get it just right. I think you would need some kind of biasing if you put larger rear calipers than the n/a's on.

the kit comes with front stainless steel brake lines, any problems running those with stock rubber rear lines in terms of brake pedal feel? Do the ss brake lines have to be use, or will the stock front rubber lines still work?

I have the stock rubber lines being used with my Wilwood kit, currently. Only because I didn't feel like fighting to get them off at the time.

I actually wondered if the Wilwood lines are any different than the stock lines... I guess you confirmed they are not jesse... I already have new SS lines and it would suck to do them again if not needed... I hate those freaking clips.

Remember that brakes can also be rated in horsepower... negative horsepower. If it takes 160hp to reach say 85mph in the quarter for a certain vehicle weight then add 20hp and reach 90mph, it works the same way stopping from 60 in 20 less feet -- you've added X amount of negative horsepower.

So, I bet the brakes did add 25hp... 25 negative horsepower.
