Default Will S2 struts and shocks fit an S model?

Hi,

According to my research the answer is yes if the S uses the S2 struts and all the mounting hardware(struts, springs, hats, basically everything between the four nuts holding the top strut mount on and the two bolts at the bottom. The shocks should also fit no problem right? Thanks in advance.

Nick,

You are correct. S2 struts will fit an S, if you use everything between the top four and bottom two bolts. The reason you need to use everything in between is because the S2 springs, and upper hats, have a smaller diameter [10-15 mm] than the S springs and hats. The springs and hats between these two are not interchangeable.

On a side note, S2 springs and hats are interchangeable with 968 springs and hats. Those struts are physically the same size.

Regarding the rear shocks, I believe both the S and S2 use the same mounting hardware [upper and lower shock bolts]. While that may be the case, the S2 shocks may have different valving to compensate for vehicle weight and power output.
