Finally, my much anticipated Maxtronic arrived. I couldn't be any more excited.
NOTE: This installation is only for installing it into a 944S DME. Their are other things that need to be done to make the Maxtronic work. This is for a little help, and reassurance of fitment.
- Open DME
- Remove stock/performance chip
- Install the chip w/ ribbon from maxtronic *make sure red line is on the side with the notch*

- Route ribbon cable through this opening, the opening is the perfect size....
![](http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/max1.jpg)
- Reinstall top portion of DME board
- Place DME cover back onto DME. The Maxtronic ribbon cable will come out of the back of the DME, like so....

- A current pic... I'm just waitin to get done with my custom race dash, so I can mount it.

I must say, this thing is AWESOME!!! The switch is a nice touch to the whole package and it is easy to use!

The ribbon cable is, well, ribbon cable. Like used for IDE/ATA drives in a computer. Not the stiff stuff like inside your DME that go between boards. In this sense, soft is good. It is flexible.
The other small ribbon cable goes to the switch where you switch maps, I'm sure jesse will take more pics at some point, he's busy playing now![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Little black cable is the USB cable which you can run up to your glove box out of the way to plug into to load the box, or move files around, or tune if you have Maxtune...
Pretty neat little toy![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Jesse has found he has to use a boost guage now he has so much power...
Oh, I've been tweaking the 944S chip a little, he'll be going back to the dyno pretty soon on that, and maybe with a MAF too. This box makes development SO much faster. But so far only 5 guys bought the 944SMAX chip, I'll send them a free upgrade, it looks to be significantly stronger from Jesse's butt dyno.

Let me say, YES, 944SMAX V9 is AWESOME!!! Low end response is there. It definitely surprised me. V10 will have to wait until tomorrow though. It got too late, and I can only do some many runs before people get suspicious

Chips I've worked on like the 944NA/S/S2 can be a fairly off-the-shelf chip where one fits all. Some may need minor tweaks if they've had insane head work etc. But for the most part I can have a one-fits-all chip just like everyone else does for any NA chip. The turbos are a completely different animal. A small modification to the car means a big change in the way the car runs. That's why from the beginning I incorporated the chip selector so the turbo chips can be tuned for the car. I think I have about 70 different variations of the turbo chip right now for different mods and combinations thereof. So there's really no development per se being done on the turbo chips.
