Jesse the plastic hose?

I'm picking up my spare S engine the 23rd. If you can wait till then, and it has it, it's yours.

I'm sure we can work something out once I've got it and know what I'm keeping. Until then I'm going to have to be vague. Sorry!

Hey that's my engine ;P

Sorry I can't help - although is it something you can match a similar size up at autozone?

That's easy. Just go to autozone or whatever, and buy 2 hoses, one that matches the size of the large end, and one that matches the size of the small end. Then go to Home Depot and find a brass or plastic coupler that has different sizes on either side.

This is how I replaced my PS pump-to-reservoir hose with generic stuff. I know that Home Depot has the part, but I remember spending some time searching through the store looking for it.

+ 1 Don't forget to rubber cement the coupler.

Is it extremely expensive to buy it from a dealer, or why is that not a viable option?

No, it's not an item kept in stock. The part is like $34, so it's no biggie, i just don't know when i'd get it. This piece is causing a vacuum leak, and i have a deadline to fulfill.

$34 is pretty expensive for a little hose, so I can see that being a deterent.

But as long as the part does not have to come from Germany (generally only for items that never need replacing; typically rubber hoses, maintenance parts, gaskets, etc. are stocked in North America), any dealer in the US can get parts from the North American warehouses (East coast one is in Altanta, and the west coast one I believe is in CA), within 2-3 days, tops.

A local p-car shop here in MN, not even a dealer, will expedite all part orders and gets anything they dont stock by the next day. I think their parts souce is in Chicago.

If you run out of other options, give Kenn Young at Hennessy Porsche (parts mgr) a call and see how fast he can get you the part. They are in Atlanta, so he has pretty quick access to the PCNA warehouse, and also offers a nice 20-30% discount off list prices:
