Default Momo Shifter and Boot

I am thinking of adding a momo shifter **** and seperate momo boot to my 1986 944 Turbo. Is there any fit or other issues I should be aware of? I am also considering adding the Momo Millenium Sport steering wheel in red...same questions of fit or related issues. Thanks in advance all.

make sure to get the shift **** adapter kit from performance products - without that, you won't be able to fit the shift ****. If you're interested, I have a practically brand new momo shift ****, boot, and adapter kit that will work on your car that I'd be willing to sell you for a reasonable price. If you're interested, shoot me a pm

Do you HAVE to get the adapter from them or is ther anything that can be done "custom"?

Also whats the difference in the boot? Got pics? I may be interested as well.

you don't need to get the adapter, but its a lot cheaper/easier than getting custom work done (custom work would basically involve cutting the shift level and welding a round bar in). The boot is black leather with silver piping...I'll send you pictures of the ****, boot and adapter tomorrow if you'd like

i have a momo **** already but my boot does a lil silly with it tucked down like I have it. I just used a good deal of duck tape and then slid my **** down on top of it.

I'm doing a few auto-x events this year and may need my **** a lil more sturdy than it is. pmed

the adapter is only about $15. it is the $6 shipping that hurts!!! it is well worth it. You may also want to insulate the adapter with tape around the lever, very thin, but enough to isolate the harmonics that come through. i also put a radiator clamp on the bottom of the adapter.

advance auto has some nice inexpensive shift ***** that have the same thread as teh momo. i prefer the solid **** that is on the NA i just sold to the hollow ones. the hollow ones resonate more sound.

part number 912690 if link doesnt work. I put a layer of thick clear weather strip tape for the house around the lever to dampen some of the harmonic vibration.

Don't worry...momo actually tends to make pretty classy products that fit really well with the rest of the Porsche interior

real carbon fiber, on the other hand, is pretty awesome...I've seen some racecars with real carbon bits (dash, door panels, etc) in the interior and it looks sick

Yeah, I put a momo shift **** in my 944 when I first got the car. I didnt like the way it felt, so I got another style and havent changed it since.

First **** I had...

My current one. I need to find some sort of grip tape material for it. It gets really hot if its in the sun, but its really easy to hold on to as long as you have dry palms.

Stretch and seal rubber, available at Kragen and Pep Boy's (at least) work wonders on my shift **** to reduce vibration, etc. I never leave home without it. I imagine it would serve as a perfect grip solution.
