Default Roadtrip to New Orleans for 951 - Suggestions?

My wife and I are heading to New Orleans on Friday to pick up this car.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3676754&rd=1,1

We are staying the weekend at

www.blockkellerhouse.com

Any suggestions for good sights to see? I thought that this place looked nice.

www.oakalleyplantation.com

We are sort of dry boring type folks who turn into the sack early and enjoy touring gardens

Just you both wait and see what I do with it.

Finishing up a customer's car, then work on the turbo will commence............it's gonna be sick!

Josh,

All sorts of stuff to do in New Orleans. Please stop by my wife's resteraunt "The Redfish Grill" on Bourbon street. Lunch is pretty affordable and really good. Make sure you get the Banana's Foster Up for desert.

D-Day Museum is here and a good bet for a couple of hours. Also the Aquarium of the Americas has recovered nicely. Oak Alley is pretty good. There's a bus tour of the Katrina devistation that some peope seem to like. I'm sick of seeing it but for those out of towners that are curious I hear that it's pretty eye opening. The French Quarter is going through a makeover rightnow so things can be a little out of whack but it's certainly available for walking around. I'm not sure what the Riverwalk looks like this week as most shops had to shut down when tourism dried up after the storm.

I'm working from New Orleans that day but don't know what time I'll be around otherwise I'd treat you to lunch at Redfish.

BTW, what do you like to eat? If you want seafood then we're the place to be but if you like things like Italian than I can suggest another of my wife's resteraunts "Bacco" which is also in the French Quarter. She's got a third resteraunt called "Ralphs on the Park" if you want something swanky but it's not in a tourist driven area. Whatever your pleasure I can lead you to a good place to eat.

Josh

If you're parting it can I get dibs on the outer door handles if the car has power locks?

TIA

Joe

Ellssuu - Thanks for all the good eating recommendations - I'll note all those. Thanks for the heads up on stuff to do as well.....

J Berk - I'll check on the power locks and get back to you

Albert - I figured someone would get a kick out of that comment

The damage doesn't look that bad in the photos. You might do better fixing it....

When I was there I when on a swamp tour on a fan boat, it was a blast! Too bad the french quarter has hit hard in the flood but you might want to check it out anyway. Riverboat tour should be a must also.

The swamp fan boat idea sounds fun - we had noticed a picture of that on their visitor's website
