That sounds/looks like a blast. There weren't too many spectators out in their lawns in that video, especially considering how densely populated it was. Are most of the stages in more scenic areas? Also, it was somewhat unclear on the website, how much does it cost to enter for basic competition?

Notes: just the usual tulips. No pace notes allowed, no recce. In any case, many of the stages are repeated every year. Where I went off had nothing to do with not knowing where the road went - I've driven that stage numerous times. I just f*cked up. I have to do more testing to figure out exactly why I lost the brakes - testing that I should have done before the event, but didn't.
As for spectators in the video, that year, that particular stage was run twice, the day before at about 4:00pm - lots of spectators. The video is from the next morning around 9:00am - everybody is at work or school.

Just this past weekend, I saw some footage from the 2006 Targa, including the in-car camera footage from your swim. A participant from Charlotte had the video playing at a Saturday night party.
These shots are a definate "must see".
Question - Did you have the "OK" sign already made or did you write it while sitting in the car?

Charlotte ... Hmmm. Would that be Bob and Nadine or Harold or Stan ? Great folks.
OK - The back page/cover of every (FIA-spec) rally routebook has a green "OK" on one side and a red cross on the other.

It would be the Charlotte team in the 914 known as Papa Smurf. They were showing a DVD he had purchased with quite a few clips of his car, and other highlights.

DOH!!! I wish someone would have told me that before I sank my Jeep half way up the doors.
It's lifted 4.5" and on 31 swampers so it doesn't really care, there's always an exception to the general rules.
