I have AVS 100. Get this, I failed one of my local regions tech because they are not Z rated! Think about that for a second! I just ran in another region.

anybody tried mirada sport gtx? i just bought a set but havn't really gotten to try them out as it is still cold outside so its hard to see how much they grip. they are supposed to be all season performance tires and mine are only H rated unfortunatly... (130mph) has anybody tried them? they seem ok, but then again i'm coming from the wrong sized (185 instead of 195) michellin mxv4 energy's...

My experience with the MXV4 Michelin's was horrible.

You'd get better grip just wrapping rubber bands around the rim and driving around.

yeah i know, i work as a tire technition and the michelin's sidewall is so soft and flexible its crazy. great for a sedan but not a p-car... silly P/O. but i did get pretty good at feeling the MXV4's and eventually the sliding i could use to my advantage! lol

I'm using Dunlop SP8000 225/50/15 front, 245/50/15 rear on phone dials. Have worked very well for me on the street as well as the track.

Ive also used the SP8000 for a few thousand street miles and one auto-x. Not bad at all, but kind of expensive and a summer only tire.

I have Falken Zeix 512's on the set of wheels im using right now. All season tire, v-rated. Not bad for the street..good grip and a stiff sidewall. Tread wear hasnt been bad either, they have about 8-9k miles on them with little showing of wear. Have not auto-x'ed on them but dont plan to either.

ok let me clarify my opinion on es100's- i had them on my 914 and they seemd awsome. Put some on my n/a and they were great. Then when i replaced them w/ some nice toyos- and later w/ some michelin sport pilots- i found i could put the car wayyyy harder into a corner w/ wayyyy more confidence then i could w/ the yokos. Does that mean they are a bad tire- no, just not high enough performance for me. Would be great for daily car tires...i wouldnt recommend them for going real fast though.

+1

I have ES100s on the 951 right now, and I'm finding that they perform OK and seem to wear well, but are loud. It's not a bad tire, but certainly no more sticky than many alternatives and noticeably louder than the S02s, Dunlop SP 8000s, and RE 750s I've had on this car in the past.

Pretty sure they are. IIRC (and it was over a year ago I bought them) they are rated up to like 170mph. Not sure how many 944s go much faster then 170...
