you can pick up a nice 951 for good money.

sell everything else and focus on the one car.

More boost is a good way to reduce the weight of your wallet as well

Make a 928 your daily.
You easily have the means to do that.

As far as interest and attachment are concerned, Porsches epitomize the proverbial slippery slope.

...turbo Porsches, however, typify a vertical cliff.

Welcome!

Welcome!
OHHHHHH MY GAWD yes.

I have close friend who is also in the Marines. He has been gone for the last three years stationed, in Okinawa. He had an 87S before he left. He kept that thing concourse perfect. When he sold it in 2000 he got $13500.00 out of it. Now he is about a month from retirment and is coming back. He has had a turbo skyline over there and wants to get a 968 to turbo convert.

His very lovely and patient wife is however going to be back in eye rolling mode now that they are heading sateside where there are Porsches. When they came to vist on leave, he took my 89 951 out and upon our return to the house his wife said "he had that damn look in his eye..." Then she slugged me.

Yeb leap off a vertical cliff indeed...

HELL my Porsche lead to a Dodge 2500 turbo diesel and a car trailer and DEs and ... it never ends.

Too true. Sadly too true.

My logical part of the brain (smaller part of an already small brain) says sell the S2, keep the turbo and turn the corolla into a station car.

Another part of the brain says sell the corolla, sell the S2, sell the turbo, sell the miata and buy a 911 targa.

Another part of the brain says sell the corolla, sell the S2, sell the turbo, keep the miata and buy a 911 coupe.

Another part of the brain says sell the corolla, keep the S2 as a station car and keep the turbo.

Another part......

And people here wonder why I change cars like most people change underwear. My brain is a scrambled mess of cars!!! Sort of like that scene in Animal House!

I got hit w/ the bug like a sledgehammer to the face...and believe it or not my girlfriend got hit harder.

I was not planning on buying my car, but merely to check it out and test drive one (I've always wanted to test one). Anyway, it turns out the thing was in CHERRY stock condish, was wonderfully fast and drivable, and was only $6000!!! 110k miles, but still. Hell yeah.

When I got home my girlfriend said, "So when are you buying it?"

I said, "I won't be 'cause I don't have the money." --"I'll help you out."

The rest was history...hehe and I love it...

In other words, maximize the benefits of the N/A design and keep the 951 for serious oommph!
Well along those lines I think I have the best of all worlds

1) Stock street 944 Turbo S... Whee......

2) Stock motor, stripped, lightweight NA race car. Beat on her and flog her and she just keeps wanting more. Fun fun fun... Plus really cost effective to operate.

Well, I know I may not be the best person in the world to give advice on things of this nature, but... sometimes they say that the person who has suffered the worst, or experienced it the most, is sometimes the best person to give advice!

With that said, I've mentioned to you before that I had 9 Fieros at one point in my life. Like I had said before, you end up spending soo much money keeping them all running, and just maintaining them all, that you never really get to spend very much money on any one particular car, and end up with an entire fleet of cars that are mediocre. But if you can reduce that number to half, those cars will be twice as nice.

I know the feeling that you get from every one of those cars. Each one feels like it has it's own different character, and it's exciting to learn everything there is about each new one you get... but really, they're all very much the same.

If it were me, I'd probably keep that one that you said was built on your birth date / year, maybe keep 1 or 2 of your favorites, take the best parts of the whole bunch and put them on the ones you want to keep, then get the rest of them all prepped, cleaned, and ready to sell. Then you can buy a 951 and have like 3 cars that are all really nice.

I sold all my Fieros except for the original one that I bought (which really was the nicest one to begin with, even if it wasn't the fastest to begin with). This has given me the time, money, and most importantly... the space... to buy and enjoy other / different cars. I have a car for almost any mood I feel like being in.

If I want to go to the beach, or go camping, I take the VW Bus. If I want to cruise the strip, I take the Solstice. If I want to go somewhere that's a bit more classy, I take the Crown Victoria (it's no Mercedes, but it's definitely not a Taxi Cab either.) Or, if I want to drive to work completely peacfully not have to hear a single engine noise, or anything else around me while reclining in a massive bench seat, I can also take the Crown Vic. If I'm feeling competetive and I want to send my ***** into the back seat, I take the 81 TransAm with the 455 cubic inch Olds big block.

If all I had were sports cars, I'd probably suffer from hypertension.

82-T/A - I hear ya - but I don't drive/maintain all of them myself.

I drive one, dad drives one, brother drives one. One is a dedicated race car project, one will be a "demo" car for my products, etc. etc..........they all have their uses.

No, what I am saying is - I am not alone in this - I don't have to do everything myself.

Besides, I live in Fredericksburg - while it's a very nice place to live - there is NOTHING else to do. There is no social life and no females my age. So I work on Porsches and invent new products...........
