Anyone ever seen one of these or have experience with them?

All I can find out about them is that they made shifters for BMW's, but cant find even a web site for them.

One of the previous owners installed this shifter but it has way too much slop in it. Guess I will order a new one to replace it.

Usually there are little screws or allen bolts on the base of the shifter, going in from the side, that let you tighten it.

Also, you should know that all 944s develop sloppy shifters. The slop is not in the ****, it is in the connection of the shift lever to the main shift rod (the rod that goes from the shifter to the tranny). Read this:

Try this:

Personally I found that JB weld will crumble. I was going to try fiberglass hairs with resin.

You might double check the linkage at the rear where the shift rod mates to the transmission. My shifter was sloppy and I assumed it was at the ****/shifter end but it became obvious that it wasn't when the linkage eventually came off the tranny. It's a fairly easy fix and worth a look just to make sure it's tight.

you can also cut off the worn part in this picture (stole it from the linked thread)..

...and weld in a grade 8 bolt shank (don't remember the size..cut the factory weld, drill through, push the new bolt in and weld it back up). The factory peice will sometimes wear out in less than a year!!! If you please you can then still do all the other "mods" around the grade 8 bolt (like bushings, etc)

Here are some not so great pictures. Where the arrow is, there was about 1" of black duct tape to help keep the shift **** on.

Anyone have a good stock shifter they dont need?
