Ok fellas. I picked up a set of 15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs wheels and was curious what size tires I should run on those wheels. If these were 16x7 and 16x8, I would be putting 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 respectively. Unfortunately there is no 205/55/15 sizes in the tires that I am thinking about getting which are the Falken Azenis 615's.
Would it be ok to just run a 225/50/15 for both the fronts and rears given I have staggered size rims for street driving and autocrossing? I know the 225/50/15 tires are smaller in diameter than stock but that is the size that I use with the Toyo RA1's on 15x7's for track events.

225/50 R15 are standard on the 15x7 wheels we run in 944 spec.
you could go wider than 225 on an 8" wheel, but tire slection is very limited. Frankly I am not sure of any tires wider than 225 in 15" diameter that you could use.

Dunlop makes a 255 but that is pushing it. I am running 205/60 r15's on my 15X7/8 fuchs now but am going to go to a 205/50 fr and 225/50 rear for that good gearing
when time and money permit and when I wear these out. However, if racing, always listen to Joe D. IMHO.

There is no way I can fit a 255 on the 8" wheel without sticking out of the fenders. I already know I am going to run a 225/50/15 on the 15x8 but I guess the only option is to go with the 225/50/15 for the 15x7 too. The 205/50/15 is about .8" smaller in diameter than the 225's and I am not sure if that is going to upset the handling of the 944. That is a possibility though.

225 on all four corners. Hot tip. Final answer for NA handling. My racer was not as fast in 2006 with 225/50/16-245/45/16 combo as it was with 225/45/15's on all four corners in 2005 ![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Mental note for self: Go back to 225's all around for 2007.
