Default Thoughts on this 951 for sale

Hello,

I've been looking at 951s for over two years now. I saw this one on ebay:
Obviously its been taken care of very well. But the price....ouch! It has been listed before and only made it to 15k. The buy it now is 24k. Is it at least worth a look or should I keep searching?

Excellence magazine had a one-owner '88 Turbo S with a few more miles sell for 18k, so for me this eBay one looks really nice but I don't think I could justify the asking price when a newer Turbo S is selling for less (but still higher than what Excellence prices them at). Advice appreciated, thanks.

wow.. That is really somethin else. Was the Turbo S in excellence a stock car? With all the upgrades, it does sound like $20k+ is worth it.

Are you planning on driving it or putting it in a museum?

Just remember that Excellence numbers are not real world and prices vary not only pending upon season but also greatly upon area of the country. That said, I would never devalue one of our cars but it does seem a premium price... just hope the car is at premium to deserve it as well.

That is one beautiful car. My feelings about owning such a car is I could never drive it where I like to drive on mountain runs and weekend getaways. It's too nice to risk a DE or auto-X in. Every paint chip and parking lot would make me cringe. Having a 'perfect' car is just that and nothing more. If your investment is for a collectible car then having all those aftermarket mods isn't doing it any favors value or concourse wise. If it is for performance and the thrill of driving it then maybe a well modded car with a few warts and pimples at 1/2 the price would be more to your liking. Being afraid to park or drive a car like that would spoil the whole appeal for me. The again maybe I'm just jealous

No car belongs in museum, they are ment to be driven. Its only a $20K car. Drive it like ya' stole it.

It is very nice! Seems worth the asking price.

Thanks for the replies. My wife and I decided not to consider this one and to either look for a 951 with higher mileage and a lower price or possibly something else. The search continues!

Exceptional car but I still think 24K is too high. Maybe 20K..

That car makes my sticker peck out!

I'd have a hard time driving such a well kept car in less than ideal conditions.
