Default Snub nose?

By compressing the shocks on the front bumper and "snub nose" will happen correct? Ive liked the look of this when done cleanly. However, how can you compress the shocks safely off the car? I would rather not run mine into a wall to do so.

Any pics btw?

I just got under the front bumper and drilled the shocks... it takes a minute or so and then it will release... I used an old drill because the liquid got every where.

Ok i was just wondering, it takes less than five minutes to get them out, I just didnt want them exploding in my face or something.

What did you do to keep them from coming back out when you brake or something? Would a tack weld be a good idea? I like the turn signals btw. looks really good.

Wear goggles. Oil will spray allover the place.

I had to kick the bumperpads to get the bumper in, so I don't think you should have any problems with them sliding back out, but that was my case.. Its pretty solid where its at, even auto-x'ing and spirited driving.

However if you tack weld em that would make sure they wont slide out..

They don't explode, but think of shaking a can of soda then drilling into it, it is under some pressure, and will shoot out liquid...

If you take the shock off, stand it upright on a 2x4, then put another 2x4 on top of it. Proceed to hit it a couple of times with a mallet. That will compress the shock.

They will stay that way. I need to get my tack welded because i now have a bumper tow block. So if i ever get the car pulled up on a flatbed its probably going to pull the bumper back out.

It wouldnt hurt to do it regardless.

Just also note you loose the front end 5mph buffer if you drill the shocks out.

they will not slide back out after pushing them back in- hell the only way to get them back out is pull it back out w/ another car or something.

Ahh. The old "Wolf Bumper Mod" for those of us that have been around the forum for a long time.

It just looks like someone accidentally ran into a brick wall and hasn't fixed the damage yet, but whatever floats yer boat.

if you want, i have an old pair of bumper shocks that are compressed that i could sell to you cheap. That way you wouldn't have to drill into yours, and you could always swap back to the "original" if you changed your mind.

The big gaps at the sides ruins the look for me. It looks like unrepaired crash damage. The lines of the car do not flow right up front anymore. I think what would look tons better would be to remove the pads and smooth out the bumper, or a Euro bumper.
