I have actually taken it out and handed it to the starter explaining that my time was poor because I had left it in. You should see their face until they realize I am kidding.

Z-Man, i wish MetroNY was like that, but anything you take out of the car for purposes of lightening puts you in modified unless its because you put in safety equipment in its place. I usually run with it, including the roof panel as i dont really think 13lbs over the rear axel is going to make a huge difference. But with it in, i cant fit the four tires in the car now without really squeezing the tires against the roll bar.
Which brings to mind Z-Man, do you know if NNJ is ever going to goto the 'official' PCA classifications? Like Metro has much more lient rules with suspension modifications compared to NNJ. You can do basically anything you want as long as you keep the stock mounting points and dont machine anything.
Anyhow next year theres a slim chance ill be running in modified anyhow with the likes of the FrankenRob car and other modified 4 and and low displacement 6-cylinder cars. Ill have my own 'FrankenJon'.

Howard, our AX chair is looking at realigning the classes closer to PCA national's classes. But it will be an evolution, not a sudden change. So maybe in a couple of years we'll be up to speed with the rest of the world...
BTW: M1 (Modified 1) is for modified 4 cyl cars - no 6cyl cars in that class.

Z-Man, i was refering to Metro's modified class.
Dan, if i go modified and you do also, you will be in M04 because of the turbo (you automatically get bumped). Have fun running against the 914-6.. . Ill be running against the FrakenRob car and Ed Trainor in his 944.

I have a Michelin Aluminium Jack.
It's very light and built well.

The "Hydraulic Speedy Lift" is handy. One pump and the jack arm will rise to the bottom of the car.

I use this one, it's always going on sale at Sears:

It raises to 18 1/2", and easily fits under the car (I think it's only 3 3/4" tall when down). No complaints.

I bought the larger aluminum HF model right after they started carrying them about 3-4 years ago. Hasn't held fluid in about 2 years., but I've been using it around the shop since putting my racing on hold.
Anyone know of a rebuild kit for these jacks?
