Pray tell - other than changing tires, what other work do you plan on doing on the car at the track? You indicated that you're looking for a jack to take to the track with you.

The best way to ensure that your car will be up to the rigors of the track is to 'overmaintain' the car. A stitch in time saves a valve. (Or something like that..)

Yep that's me. Snowballing thoughts. What I actually want is a light weight, low height, high raising jack that I can take to the track for tire changes AND use at home for under the car stuff.

I want it alllllllllllllll

Just brought my 3 year old non-working presumed to be dangerous jack back to Costo where I bought it at least 3 years ago where the returned my full purchase price with a smile. i then bought, with a smile, their Arcan Aluminum Service Jack which weighs 49 lbs and has a lift height of 19 inches. Complete with rubber pad to protect the underside of the car. It only cost me $20 out of pocket.

Costco has great customer service.

Dan, how much was the jack total? I need something lighter weight and that will fit under my car without having to drive up on 2x4's. It sucks having such a low car sometimes. And if you change wheels as often as i do you can only imagine how annoying it is.

That is true. The jack was $99.99. Not $100.00 but only $99.99. It is light and goes higher than any other jack i have seen for that price. Pep boys has one for $89.99 with a $10.00 rebate that they advertise as a race jack but it only goes 14 3/4 inches high.

Do you think it would fit into my car with the cage plus 4x 225/50/16 v710s?

That's a tough one. It is still iinthe box but it looks a drop smaller than a full size jack. it is definately biger than the one at Harbour Freight and Pep Boys. there is a chance that you can get it into the spare tire area.

Jon - It's 13" wide and 26.5" long.
How are you going to fit 4 tires in your car anyway?

I found if i dont bring the rear carpet with me, i can fit 3 tires in the back and 1 in the front seat. If i didnt have that 4pt bar i can fit probably 6 tires in my car. Maybe i can throw it into the spare tire well like you said.

Not sure if it's low enough, goes high enough, or is light enough, but for the price what the hell. they have a 2.5 ton one too.

Actually that is the exact one I have and se to change tires at events. It is low enough and high enough to change tires but nothing more. I can't even fit my regular sized jack stande under the car with that jack.

That would probably fit in the spare tire well now that i see the dimensions.

I need to get a set of tire totes also so i can stop using garbage bags. But i can squeeze 3 tires laid flat in the rear hatch (one tire actually wedges inbetween the roll bar and the rear seats) and 1 in the passenger seat which is kind of annoying.

Haha and yea someone will probably make a stink about it and ill get put in modified. But ive run without it before and noone ever said anything. If they are really sticklers about it ill tie it down to the roof

With NNJR, you can remove the rear carpet without being bumped into modified. IE: anything that can come out of the car that's not bolted down is fair game (carpet, floor mats, ashtray...etc).
