Default tons of gear noise, 1800 - 2900 rpm

hey guys, i did a search... but i cant seem to find somethign that describes the priblem i have with my car.

my 1990 s2 makes a horrible sound from the transmission (im assuming)
it only does it when the clutch is engaged, if i push the clutch ina t these rpms it makes no sound.

its coming from the rear of the car and sounds like grinding.. or somethign along those lines.

the transmission only has 50,001 kms on it and the clutch is about 5000 kms.

tranny oil is full, but could use a change. could it just be really old gear oil? i dont know if the PO ever changed it in the tranny! what else could make this sound.. could anything have come loose from the clutch job?

Symptoms sound like it, but I cant imagine the TT bearings going out w/ only 50k kms, should be more like 200k.

throwout bearing- in neutral w/ the clutch out, there is no pressure on the TO bearing and it makes noise- push the clutch in and it puts pressure on the TO bearing the the noises stop. TT would be making noises most likely if it was moving-not sitting still.

If it is only noise - i guess throwout bearing. If it is associated with vibration - TT bearings. Lots of vibration + noise = clutch disc (partial dectruction of rubber damper casusing lack of ballance).

does it sound like a whirring and grinding noise? Mine ONLY does it starting out in 1st. Sometimes I let the clutch out, and I get a whirrrrrrrrrr sound until I let the clutch completly out. I was suspecting TT bearings as well....

it seems as though it is only making the noise when the tranny gets really warm, like after a long run down the highway. for example, i started it up this morning to go to work andit doen't make the sound, however it is sticky to get from 1st to 2nd gear when the tranny is cold.

think it could just be really worn out trans oil? and when it gets warm its gets so watery it doeesnt provide much lubricaton?

it can't my the throwout bearing, it was just replace, along with the clutch and flywheel.

only other thing i can think of is something might have come loose.

I noticed one other thing, some times when pulling really hard around a corner i get a whine from the back end of the car, maybe this could be the same problem?
