only problem is that it might be a disicplinary as you are by-passing security,
and as most work places IT can trail yuor PC, they can tell this.

so if its banned at work probably a reason, over ride or bypass the filter and watch the wrath of HR !

Or you could download mozilla firefox portable onto a thumb drive and HR will never know about it! visit all the sites you want and they can't track ****

pickle, howso? Don't they usually track by IP? They still would have your IP , they don't need to see your browsers history I don't think.

By the way, that thumbdrive/portable browser idea doesn't work for getting around a corporate firewall when it is configured properly.

Makes our lives (IT Staff) interesting though staying one step ahead of people who want to goof off at work.

Plus with XP they can block you from using that thumbdrive or any external device

Oh I can tell you. If they know what they are doing they will know where you go. I have had users try to do this to me and I have been able to tell them exactly where they went every time. It does help to have the right equipment and software though. But it's just not worth doing at work if they have tough policies about surfing (and it sounds like they do).

Why not just use a cgi proxy. You get many more options to goof off with.
