wow...nice 944. To be honest though, based on what it looks like you've spent, if you're thinking about selling now, you won't get anywhere near what you put in it (or probably what its really worth...my guess is 5-6k or so, maybe a bit more). If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling?

I think your best course of action to get the most return on what you have spent is to take whatever you put on the car off and sell it seperatley. You will get peanuts on the dollar if you sell everything with the car.

Unless of course you find the right person. Out there someone is probably willing to pay $100k for a Pinto..but i doubt you will find them.

If it is really clean, a early NA could fetch 8K with that mileage. But it really is a slippery slope once you get past 40K miles.

30K mile all orignal maintained late NA 944's can still demand 15-20K dollars. But we are talking showroom pristine cars, sometimes actually in porsche dealers.

All the 944's I have ever seen for 5-6K were ratty IMO.

8K seems to be the happy medium if you find the right buyer for the nice early ones.

Very clean car with tasteful updates, I'd say you could get top dollar. My car was in good condition and I started with $5,500 but ended up selling for $4,500. I know If I would have waited I could have got $5k-5.5. Oh yeah, my car was for sale for about 2 1/2 months.

Just curious, how did you get those wheels to fit? Are you using spacers to get enough back spacing?

the back really wasn't a problem as everyone thinks it might be with 11 inch wide tires i used only 1/4 inch spacers in the back and 1 1/2 in the front
they line up perfectly

NA's tend to go for 5k, 951's for 10k.

Personally, I'd sell the wheels and spacers separate, and try and get 6-7k for it due to lower mileage, however you start to get close to 952/S2 area.

Another thing that is missing from the info is how long since TB/WP and Clutch Service.

A 944 is a great buy, but horrid investment.

What year is it? Doesn everything work on it, including the AC?

An '83 944 auto was sold at the local public car auction last week for $1200cdn, but it was in a little less than average condition and it was also a reposession.

Another problem you're going to face is it's an east coast car. The mere possibility of exposure to salt, rust, snow, ice, etc. is enough to deter a lot of buyers or to cost you significantly on the price.

Personally I'd never buy another car that's seen time on the east coast again, for just that reason.

I guess, but on these cars it isn't terrible. You just learn not to tailgate people, or your windshield becomes chipped in a hurry. I get a little surface rust on untreated parts like A-arms and the AC turnbuckle. Just go around, check for loose undercoating, and hit it with some Wurth ruststop primer and Wurth undercoating. Third winter with my car and it hasn't been bad.
