Default Odometer Question?

My odometer stopped working tonight. If I reset the trip odometer it still resets. Do I have a stripped gear or worse? I need to get this fixed asap.
Thanks, Richard

you need the odometer gear on rennbay or paragon-products- both work great. Im sure there is a writeup on doing this but i found it pretty self explanitory.

Thanks, thats what I thought. It just threw me that the trip reset still works fine. Oh well.

Things other than that odo gear can fail as well. I'm in the process of fixing a broken odo with a perfectly good gear....

I have an ODO with a brand new gear that works intermittently. I have taken the gauge cluster out, and it will work for a while, but eventually will stop. Not sure if it happens only after a reset or not. But it is annoying as hell.

Always reset the trip gauge when the car is stopped. Resetting it on the roll may be causing it to break on you.

I have an extra gauge cluster with a new odometer gear installed. If you are interested, let me know and you can have the whole thing for $45 shipped.

Thanks guys, after talking to Travis at rennbay, I think it is my gear. I don't want my mileage to be off more than 100 miles so I will order a new gear and go from there.

Oh and I have never reset the mileage while rolling. ARGGHHHH!!!!!!!

I never rest my trip odo.
Ive fixed a broken gear once, and then when I went to reset while stopped, my odo just jammed up.

I noticed on the 2nd fix that there is so much play in the numbers and gears in my odometer it just jams rather easily. It has stayed spinning ever since the 2nd fix.

mine did that for a long time too after I replaced the gear. Needless to say, I am very good at pulling the cluster. What I eventually found was that one part of the gear train had gotten jammed/stuck. As I recall it was one of the axles full of gears at the top of the odometer.

I paid for a gear and Travis was nice enough to return my money and told me I didn't need it in my early and explained how to fix it (thanks Travis, I just remembered that).

Can't be moving when you reset the odometer - so f'n annoying. What is the point of having a trip odometer that you can't reset while moving (I acutally like using the trip). I cracked that speedo case too many times. Everytime, probably pilot error, something else wouldn't work. My storage area looks like a clock shop filled with gauge parts. I got so tired of it, I tossed all of those wonky VDO gauges.
