I ran out of time so I did not take the bracket out yet. Are you talking about the bracket that has 2 bolts at the bellhousing and then attached to wastegate where the hex bolts are. The hex bolts attach the diaphram to the wastegate. I was afraid if I took those bolts off and could not get the wastegate out, I would be screwed trying to put it back together. The other bolt hole that is part of the flange (on the exhaust side) is right up against the torque tube and I was afraid that even if I took the gold bracket off, I did not have enough room. Since the car was sitting in the middle of garage, I had to button it back up till next weekend.

I am comtemplating having a muffler shop weld a flange on that little piece on the crossover pipe.

if you didnt take the gold braket out, youll probl. never get the WG out. without pulling the whole exhaust. PUtting a flange on that pipe would be unnecessary and alot more work.

if i took the bracket off, will the 2 studs stuck in the wastegate have to come out or should i be able to take them off without removing or cutting them. if i can get the gate out, i could grab them with a vise and put new ones one.
