I tried running the Platinums in my '87 NA. Ran like crap. Went back to coppers and I change them every 10-15K. I've also have had great luck with NGK's on my BMW's...

The local NGK dealer informed me that the BPR7ES (for the 851) should be changed every 10K

My BPR7ES's don't look too good after 5000 miles......

But they have been the best.

Tool, that is what i use on the 951, and they are great.

Engine is also in great shape, beautiful tan on the plugs everytime i change them....

My question is regarding the NA, specifically the 89 2.7L 8v NA's, which plugs to go......

944CS: The dealer informed me that the NKG BPR7ES are 'standard' plugs, recommeded to be replaced every 15,000kms for NA engines and 10,000kms for turbocharged cars. He informed me that there are other 'high performance' plugs, but never asked about them, since the BPR7ES work so well in my 951.

Hosrom,
I believe the dealer is just trying to get you to buy plugs every year. The manual states to replace plugs every two years or 48,000kms. I would trust what the Porsche manual states. Even NGK and Bosch state to follow manufacturer recommendations when it comes to spark plug replacement intervals.
