Default Time for an alignment- among other things

finally got motivated again and ripped my rear suspension out tonite. Ended up reindexing the torsions-or what i would call "un-indexing" the torsion bars so that the new kla coilovers will work correct. I ended up just dropping the front of the suspension down, pulling the brakets and measuring the distance from the rear arm to the upper mount to get an equal distance setting at neutral. Then after fighting for hours to get the suspension back in, installed the coilovers and Serge droplinks. After a ride around the block the car settled nicely into its new ride height which i love, but the 400 front springs and 375 rears have me feeling like im riding a buck board- man its stiff!!!!! Found a rear alignment accentric tool stuck in my PS trailing arm, i guess someone forgot to remove it at the last alignment Now its time to get an alignment again and set the springs up neutral as well so i get the balance i want, but all in all so far it seems like it'll be great on the track.

I do have a couple issues i need to resolve such as the trans cooler coils are rubbing lightly on the rear coilover- and i had to cut the spacers on the bottom of the rear KLA's down so that my bolts would reach into the trailing arms far enough to grab threads. Im thinking i may need to get lower coilover mounts from paragon w/ the ball joints on them. Oh well,i put off working on the suspension by working on body work- now im putting off body work by working on the suspension.

Looks very hunkered down! How many turns did you get on those rear bolts after cutting them down? Might want to watch those until you get the ones from Paragon.

they are in about half an inch into the threads- i cut them down to get more threads as it was barely into them before i cut the spacers. Im not worried about them coming out, just like things to be overdone-especially now that they have weight on them!

Dan,
I am in the process of installing my KLA's on the rear as well, although I am removing the torsion bars. My lowers had those spacer bushings as well, I removed them and added the spherical bearing kit for the QA1s from Jegs needed to run the racer's edge lower mounts from paragon. Give me a call and I can shoot you the part number of the kit you need from Jegs.

Dan, for the trans cooler, I seem to remember that the recomendation from KLA was to rotate the spring so that there was no rub. Not sure how effective that was since I did not have a trans cooler when I had KLA's on my car.

Maybe it will be time to get the car off of the lift and get the alignment tools/scales set up and you can be the first alignment...

Those KLA's should have come with their own bolts. I wouldn't use your stock bolts if that is what you are doing.

Your KLA's came with bolts? Mine did not and I wound up using the stock bolts as Dan is. Hmmm.

Strange in deed. Maybe the bolts on my car are the ones that came with the KLA's and I have just forgotten since it has been so long. Dan, since I am not using KLA's on my car any longer and you want to try the ones on my car you are welcome to them (have other bolts for the new suspension).

Does anyone know if KLA plans to rerelease the rear coil over?

I guess i should just ask them.

Hey Dan,
I just installed my KLA rear coilovers and the springs that I got for them are too f.....in short, no test drive today. Just out of curiousity, what length springs are you using in the rear, and what diameter if you know that.

Thanks,
Shane

pretty sure they were 10" x 2.5" ID hypercoils @ 375lbs. Can you adjust them up? I guess mine are slightly different as they have been flipped and custom spacers made to position the springs correct so you may need a taller spring than that..
