This is what I used to install my radio just get a couple butt connectors and crimp the harness that goes into the back of your radio to this harness and then plug it into the harness in the car. Its very easy to do. Most audio shops wont have this instock because of the age of the car and what not.

Example of Ipod ready Alpine Head Unit
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Alpine-CDA-9...QQcmdZViewItem
Two examples of adaptors needed to connect Ipod to an Alpine Head Unit, one with charging capability:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ALPINE-iPOD-...QQcmdZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com/alpine-aux-input...QQcmdZViewItem
I'll get you the model# for the JBL's I have and snap some pictures of the rear box/head unit a bit later today. The Alpine speakers for the doors suggested above may be a better option, and more likely to be available.

but you can see my car's interior's where you can see there is no stereo there.. maybe you can tell me a little bit more clearly in the picture and see if my car has it or not..
thanks

Your car is a 85.5 or 85 1/2. The dash was changed mid 85. if you search on the web for stuff either call it a 85.5 or 86. There were a lot of changes made for the 85.5. mainly to the interior.

I am located in columbus, OH
what about you?
and what does it mean by it's 85.5 is it a more worst car? or something?
so when I'm looking for harness in crutchfield there isn't any option for 85.5 should I go for 86? or 85?
thanks

Go for 86. All interior in your car would be 86 instead of 85. I think but am not sure that everything in your car would be 86 instead of 85 if given the choice.

Many people consider it better - especially the AC/heat. Do a search; there are basically two interriors - early and late. Late is 85.5 and older; late has a rounded oval dash vs square dash. Dash cracks come with both
![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)
Late also gets the 6-digit odometer (you'll see lots of older cars claming low miles, when the 5-digit odometer rolled over) and two speakers in the door (early had, iirc, just one on the dash or something weird like that - at least that's what I remember from my 924)
You live in a good spot - there are several local listers who can help you out of a tight spot.
EDIT: I don't see the fader switch, but it might be behind your shifter in the picture. It would be in one of the spots to the right of your switches for the outside mirrors, sunroof, and rear wiper.

I just installed an Alpine head unit with the ipod adapter in my 87. it was a breeze. You just pull the old one out, plug the harness you should get into it, and slide the new one in, basically. I drilled a hole in the little bin underneath to thread the ipod cable through, so my ipod just stays in the little cubby. No one sees it if I wanna just leave it in my car. works well for me. By the way, this is my first post. hope it was helpful.

I just realized you posted you were in Columbus. So am I...I could probably help you out. I'm no professional stereo installer, but I've swapped a few head units.
