Default SCORE! saratoga top
a couple of weeks ago I found a 944 in a junkyard this guy owns. asked him if the car was for sale. nope. it was a customers of his, and he keeps it parked there.

took a closer look. ooooo saratogo top!

asked him to talk to the owner to see if he would swap roofs.

so i made a deal, gave him a silver sunroof ( red card) and a windsheild wiper motor.

now i have this! YEEAAH!!!

mmmm...Mother's Back to Black. Nice roof tho...the only one I've found locally was GLUED IN.

Get some of that black tar Brian used at the last 'fest. Looks like you need to do that, or get peanut butter and toothpaste and take it to your seal.

the seal has come apart and its hsowing that white rubber strip thingy. and yeah the frame is faded. glass is perfect though.

Why would he want a replacement sunroof on a junkyard car? Unless it runs and is stored there, it makes no sense to me.

If all he wants is a sunroof then I would keep my original roof and find roof off of a junker for his car.

You guys will hate me if you think he got a good deal. One day I was in the restaurant where I work, and someone came in and asked who the Porsche belonged to. I said it was mine, and the said "Man, I used to have a car just like that, same color and everything. I still have the glass top to it if you want it, I just want it out of my garage." so I said sure, and he brought it by the next day. I gave him $30, cause that's what I had on me, but he didn't even ask for that.... I just felt bad not giving him anything for it. Sure enough, it's a saratoga top, one of the frameless jobs with the black vinyl bag. no cracks, no scratches, nothing. The bronze tint looks nice with my gold paint. Sometimes things really do just fall in your lap.
