Default Griffin Radiator for 951

I know there were a couple of group buys some months ago. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the performance of the radiators? Water temp decrease?, more effecient than stock? more water capacity? uses same fans or new ones?

I have a 951 race car, the car is fully developed. I have exceeded the stock cooling system. Many guys vent the hoods, duct the front end and fabricate custom radiators. I was wonderng if the Griffin will offer me a performance gain(and what it is) as well as bolt right in.

Thanx in advance

To answer a few questions, it is bolt in, it does use the factory fans, and it does offer greater water capacity. Mine has been great on the track, but I'm not even close to exceeding the limits of the factory system.

I used the griffin here in 110+ degree summer temps and was simply amazed with the difference. After about 20 minutes of "soak" in rush hour traffic the stock unit (clean but original unit) would run above the half way mark and occasionally teeter above the top white line during acceleration.

The griffin unit ran consistently at the bottom mark and occasionally teeter the half-way mark. Couple the radiator with a lower temp fan switch and thermostat and there should be a marked improvement. As you know, controlling oil temps should be done as well to help maintain a reasonable temperature.

BTW, this is on a 300+ RWHP 951 with AC and driven daily.

Good to hear Jeremy!

Rich, review the second GB posting and remind Griffith to correct the fan switch mount problems before it ships.

IBKEVIN

Thank you Very Much for that one. I thought the pricing on the last GB post for an individual radiator was like 500 something. they want significantly more than that now. I plan on oredering mine today, meeting with mechanic at 1pm.
