944 turbo bumper cover????
I have a naturally aspirated 87 944 and would like to do a turbo front bumper conversion. If anyone has done one could you please give me some info on it. Will a OEM turbo bumper bolt right up to the N/A or is there a conversion kit I can buy? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I'll let Tifo chime in but you need to get 951 headlight covers, headlight surrounds, header panel, fenders, bumper, bumper cover, signals, fogs, and money

You could get away with not using 951/S2 fenders if you are skilled enough to modify the 944 fenders (a little bit of metal needs to be removed and a lip needs to be made) or have a body shop do it for you.
Doing the work isn't to bad, its basically a removal of the 944 stuff and installation of the 951/S2 stuff. You'll need to do some custom wiring for the foglights and the turnsignals, as the plugs are different when comparing the 951/S2 electrics to the 944 electrics.
At a certain point, why not just buy a 951 or S2? You'll at least get the performance upgrade with the "turbo" look. You'll also save alot of time.

GT racing has a nice turbo front end....its made for NA vehicles, so a mod to the fenders and new light covers are not required. You'll need all new fogs and turns though. Also, look at Fiberwerks.com...another good solution and you re-use your lights.
OR...do a snub and remove the bumper pads...it looks nice too. You will lose the 5 mph crash benefit though.

One thing to keep in mind on the repro covers is that you still need to come up with some sort of support system to use behind the cover. I was going to use the factory 951 bumper support and bumper shocks, and shave down the curvature of it in the front so that it was flatter and worked with the flattish repro cover..........

I think with all fibreglass aftermarket items there's a lot of tweeking. I like Frienden's 944 with snubbed nose and deleted bumper pads.
That's what I'm planning this winter. Looks very nice and updates the car. PLUS, cost is minimal.
