Default Floormat question

All my vehicles besides the 944 are much newer, and have an anchor for the driver's side floor mat (BTW, I bet the guy who invented that obvious idea is laying on the beach on his own island somewhere). Because the 944 sits so low, the mat is especially prone to sliding around just getting in and out of the car. So, either one of two things is true ... there's a solution you guys already have employed (which I am hoping), or you feel my pain...

As always, your Rennlist wisdom is much appreciated.

I bought a set of factory mats on ebay and noticed that the front ones have some backpack-type clips on straps on the underneath side, like there would be the other end of the strap coming from the seat base to hold the mat in place. Of course my seat doesn't have these clips, but I'd like to put some on if I can ever find some replacement clips.

Aside from that, maybe some stick-on velcro? I think the newer bmw's use velcro to hold their mats down, but that velcro is probably sewn in.

I have the same problem. Those pin and aligator teeth clips don't do the job. Be nice to have something better. Been thinking about ditching the driver's side all together.

My factory mats dont have the clips. I bought a new set from Lloyds and they came with clips on the underside of the mat. They included the other ends of the clips which have two metal taps which hook under the seat rail (there is a hole that it hooks onto). They work pretty well but i still dont use them... floor mat usually dosent slide around to much.

It comes out for track and auto-x anyhow.

Yep. Santa brought me some Lloyds mats for Xmas. They are just as you say, and they stay rock solid in place. Much better than my old driver's side floor mat that would slide up on to the gas pedal every time you get in the car.

Thanks!!!!

I found my floormat clips under the spare tire, still in their factory packaging, apparently they have been there since 1984......

I don't understand the difference, I got a set from the agents and its got decent plastic lock clips that bolt to the seat anchor bolt stick through a hole in the mat and lock it in place with a 90 deg twist.
