Default Oil cooler

In my rebuild of my 85.5 na I still have yet to figure out what do do with oil cooling. I would like to use a turbo oil cooler assembly. The question is, will an '86 turbo housing bolt up to my 85.5 block? And how will the valve work? Will the 86 turbo valve work with my block? Thanks.

Hey;

I've never done it, but my gut is that the answer is that it all works. I'd skip the turbo cooler though. Kind of a rinky dink thing. I can't imagine it is that efficient. The small Mocal that they use in the KISS kit is probably far more efficient.

Kiss kit, er, what is that, pertaining to our troublesome vehicles?

turbo system will work- you need the housing, the lines, and the cooler/mounts. You also need a small aluminum tube that goes between the block and the housing where the internal cooler would normally attach. Youll need to keep your three piece OPRV or go w/ the real expensive one piece retro fit updated OPRV. Nothing wrong w/ the stock cooler, or get an s2 cooler- or even a 968 cooler- any will work just need all the parts...

I did it. Cooler, better oil pressure, muy bueno. I didn't buy longer lines, so the windshield washer bottle was the sacrificial lamb. Now, I just keep some windex in the car just in case.
