Anyone have a drivers side door?
Well my car got backed into by a 17 year old in a Toyota Highlander yesterday. Mangled my drivers side door. Surprisingly it still opens and closes...and no other damage to the front or rear quarters. Still, his insurance company is making signals that they will total it (the estimate for repair came to $3500!!!)!!! Yea it has 171K miles on it...but it runs like a top and until now still looked pretty darn good. So if they insist on totaling it I'll just put a new door on and keep on driving!!

send a pm to jay gratton. i think he is in your neck of the woods and has a 924. he may be able to source one for you locally.
Also I think Devon bought a parts car a few months back. i think he too is in your neck of the woods. and I think i can use the term woods literally in this case.

If you take care of the S&H (I just drop it off at shipper, they pack) You can have the one from my 87 S for $25. The door is red and has no side mouldings. At that price I would be selling the door itself with the hinge, I would be keeping the window& roller.

Tom's right, i do have a parts car, but the front edgeof the door would need some body work as the front fender pushed it and bent it a little when it was in an accident. probably easy enough to find a good shape one. you could have it if you came and picked it up though

get them to total it. get them then to sell it back to you without putting salvage on the title for $500 then take the door panel off and gently push the door out.
Pocket the money and drive the car another two years with a small dent. then sell the car for $50 less than it would be worth without the remnants of the dent.
gather up a list of $$ you put into the car over the last 10-15k miles.

nothing there to get you real $$. all you did would fall into maintenance, or has too many miles to get you $$ from insurance IMHO.
negoitiate your best deal then take it from there.
