re 944 1984 na front rotor replacement
Front brake pad replacement also required rotors/ Kind of surprised to feel same slight clicking in pedal at application of brakes after pads and rotors were replaced. This clicking feel showed up prior to pads / rotors being done - and I attributed it to thinning of pads as wear sensor was lighting up.
Should also note - surprised when looking closely at new rotors - to find they had symetrical, crescent shaped groove perhaps 1/4" wide which circled entire rotor going from edge to hub. Represented by shop as an up-rated rotor and that groove was to dissipate heat build up. Are rotors like these commonly now being used on older, non racing 944's? Any specific break in procedures to follow w new pads and rotors? Pedal has a soft feel to it.
Thanks.

What about those rotors, tho - I have heard of slotted and or drilled - anyone had experience or know of new rotors with grooves cut in them. Shop told me - this was to dissipate heat - but a first glance because of the wavy nature (from edge to hub and back - all around rotor - I thought the rotor was damaged. Closer look showed grooves evenly spaced - uniform around rotor - and same on both of the two new front rotors. Is this common - ?
