Car is back on the road
If u guys recall a week ago I asked if it were time to do the timing belts. The next day they were getting done. Im getting the car back tommrow. They charged me $1,300 for both belts and the rollers. Plus I needed new motor mounts b/c mine were shot. U think I got ripped or is that price fair ?

Do I think it is a fair price NO. Is it the going rate, yes. If that included the parts and labor for the motor mounts as well as all of the belts and rollers it's not that bad of a price. Make sure that includes the retension.

I got the bill today labor per hour was $75.00, 5 hrs for the belts and 3 for the mounts. The only parts I got socked hard on were $150 for a balance belt and 125 each for the motor mounts.

125 for each motor mount is not bad if they are genuine. my aftermarket (see post i started for brand) cost $50 each from paragon.
belts rollers and two aftermarket mounts cost about 250 from paragon. balance belt was 37.36.

seems right.
my shop's rate is 80/hr, and when i had the '84, they estimated at ~800 for belts rollers, etc, and another ~4hrs for mounts + cost.
well, not right, but if you cant DIY, it's not terrible.
