Default Any real benefits to the MSD 6A ignition box?

Thoughts? Worth the 170 bones? Money better spent elsewhere (or saved)? Better gas mileage from a stronger spark?

-Matt

PS
Post not just for poll kicks... really thinking about picking one up.

I have been wanting to pick one up since I go to the dyno about once a week. But I haven't gotten around to buying one just yet. Too busy with other mods. I want to dyno test actual gains if their are any.

Haha. Caught red handed. I don't know man I toss ideas around on a daily basis.

Issue is that I have the girl of my dreams and probably will be married next spring. We've been dating for 7 months. She has one semester left in college and I don't know if I can swing two cars (plus hers) plus college and just married life in general right now without making a change. But I'm leaning towards keeping it. She wants me to keep it. And for that, I'll keep HER!

I had a MSD in the Z28. It worked well with the chip and CAI (chip added more fuel, CAI more air, and MSD more spark=more kick). But, it also fried the plugs a lot earlier than they should have fried. not a big deal in a 944/968 with all the plugs within easy reach. A big deal on the Z28 with half the motor aft of the windshield, under the dashboard.

Yes, I did feel a kick with the MSD. I dont know about mileage because the only long trip of 700 miles each way was without the MSD and i got 23mpg with 300+hp.

It's Tim to you.

Good info Tom, thanks. I have a chip and it's surprisingly noticable for an NA. Very much so actually. Brings the Variocam in earlier. You think the MSD6A would add to that benefit?

Actually, here is me and my baby...and my girlfriend.

And before you ask no I did not switch to the Navy I'm just training with them.

Just picked one up on ebay in near new condition for 85 bucks with an MSD tach adapter. Couldn't pass it up. I have no idea what a tach adapter is but if I don't need it I'll just resell it on ebay.

for those that have said "keep your money", do you have any dyno results/info to prove that it's not worth the money? As of right now, their are 4 people who are negative. Can someone post why?
