Default 1994 PORSCHE 968 COUPE - $8500

Saw this on CL Los Angeles. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/221416363.html

Thought I'd pass it along. There is also a 968 motor for sale on the LA CL $3500.

Usual disclaimer: No interests whatsoever

Sounds like a good deal. Seller should have uploaded photos so looker don't need to ask for them.

This is really weird. I've seen it posted on CL multiple times. Also, he said he took it to the Porsche Swap Meet in Pomona, but I guess it didn't sell. Either there's something fishy about it or the market for 968s in So Cal has really gone down.

I think the 944 market is very soft in S. Ca. and a 968 with 163k miles is not going to fetch premium dollar either.

Mileage wouldnt make that big of a difference in a ~$20k value car.

With zero pictures, light information, and the like. I am betting the seller will ask for a partial payment in advance to his account in some other country. :P

That or its been so screwed up, its now a very large $8500 paperweight...

Depends on the previous maintenance and things. I bought a 175k mile car earlier this year, b/c the previous owner was fanatical about maintenance -- didn't give the mileage a second a thought. OTOH, I've also ran away from 80k mile car because it was a ticking timing bomb.

This summer, I let go a cosmetically challenged but mechanically sound 170k miles S2 for only $4k to a guy in San Luis Obispo (he's building an endurance track car out of it). Even that sale took awhile...

price is way high...if you can't give a cab away for 5500, you won't get 8500 for that car

8500 if it needs a clutch and shocks is now 12k add belts and a tune and it is 13k.

if the seats are worn like they should be 13k becomes 14k.

now for about 16k i could have bought a babied 50K CPO 968 advertised on this board a few months ago.

suddenly 8500 is high, and the saying that the more expensive car is usually cheaper is once again proven. No stock 968 is a 20k car when 996s can be had in the low 30s.

Who would pay $1000 for belts, rollors, and wp? $450 tops.
How do you get $3500 for clutch and shocks? Clutch kit $525 Shocks $300 for konis
Even someone who cant repair it themself clutch labor is only 4hrs. 30mins. for shocks.
