Default Fuchs on an "87 ???????

Hi all,
I heard a neighbor was talking about selling his 1987 N/A.
I went a few streets over and took a quick look at it sitting in the driveway.
He says its a 1987 model...but...it has Fuchs.
I thought 1987 N/A's all came with 15 or 16 inch phonies...He was not home so i did not get to open the car or look at the options sticker.
I didn't even think you could put Fuchs on an 87 because of the offset differences.....
I am confused...

Yes, there are certain offset fuchs that will fit a 87. I parted a 88 S that had them. They were 6's on the front and 7's on the back. I will post pics.

No, on this one it did not show. You would have to take one of the wheels off and look at the back to make sure it is not a fake. IF they are real, I think they will have a 911 part#. It has been 2yrs since I parted that car, so I don't remember for sure the part#

No, not a factory wheel option. Something that someone swapped out later. Can get away with using the wrong offset because the particular set of fuchs wheels are so narrow (6s and 7s). Likely would not be able to fit 8" Fuchs w/o looking stupid or having some outboard rubbing issues on a late offset car.

Like Jim said, if it is a late offset car, it has some narrow 6's and/or 7's on it.

I bet, more-than-likely, he doesn't really know the correct year of the car and it is an 86 or older.

That blue S that Todd posted above looks like it had rear wheel rub on the fender lips on compression.

All you have to do is look at his VIN. If the 10th character is a D, E, F, or G, its a pre 87 car. If it has H or letter later in the alphabet, its an 87+ car. He either has the wrong offset narrow fuchs on a late car or a pre 87 car.
