If its a Ford use the sisters car
Really, find all the holes in the garage to the outside world and fill them with Great stuff, then set traps (no comments from *PETA please) with good stuff to eat and you should be ok.

my sisters car is a pontiac. i was thinking of plugging the tailpipe with steel wool, i heard they dont like that too well.
Im not sure of all the spots the little bastards can get in thru. what about moth *****? i just got two boxes of my new interior, so im not worried about the moth ball smell, unless it will stick to the dash.
thanks for the replys

Actually this is a very serious subject and the bastids can do serious harm. (I've had the hood insulation eaten away by mice although XSBoobs and Andy(nine-44) SWEAR my car has never seen operating temp.) Now back to the problem at hand.
In the garage, I use mouse traps baited with peanut butter and/or peanuts.
I also use D-Con pellets sprinkeled in a pile on the floor to let me know there has been activity .
Bounce softener sheets by P&G keep every critter out of the interior and engine bay. They HATE the smell. trust me.
The goal is to keep them out of the structure. Once in, traps and poison cut back on activity. I also have a bucket/ water/2x4 and sunflower seed trick that keeps ANY small critter at bay in a garage area. it's just not PETA recoginzed.\PM me for details.
I've dealt with them all. trust me.
Good luck.

the space where the 44 will be parked will be the most heavily gaurded area in the united states!!!!!!!!!!!
And any creature who dares invade that territory shall pay will their life! Ill throw Mr. Buddy out in the garage once in awhile i suppose, he thinks highly of the 44. Hes proven usefull in my living room downstairs too, just picked up another decapitated mouse this morning.
ill have to post some pics when i set up the defense perimeter.

I have had rodents eat a set of magnacor wires, and most of my radiator fan harness when my car was parked for a couple of months out in the desert. Here is the remedy (seriously): Use purple power or bleach around the floor, under the engine. Also, spread a little rat bar (poison bricks) around the car. You will undoubtedly find a dead rat, squirrel, or rabbit near by, but it will not have munched your wiring and left **** and nests around your intake manifold.

I forgot that one, I've also heard it works good (no moth ball stink and yes, that smell WILL get into the dash).
They wont even notice the oil smell.

I toss a few Moth ***** around under the hood, in the trunk and inside the car. I don't think the little buggers like the smell. And the moth ***** slowly evaporate leaving no cleanup mess. I also toss a few around the corners of the garage, just as a "Keep Out" sign. Haven"t had trouble with the critters since I started doing that.
