Default Notchy shifts

My car recently has been having a loose and notchy feeling when shifting, espcially when cold. And when I bought it 4 or 5 months ago it was super smooth and solid feeling.

And I remember reading on this forum about a way to tighten up something of the shift linkage to correct this problem but after searching for a while I can not find the thread, so if someone could give me a hand with that it would be awesome.

And my second question is I have heard that changing transmission fluid can have a big impact too so i was thinking about getting some Redline MT-90. But what I wanted to know is if you should change the gear oil at the same time if so what should I change it too?

the transaxle is in the back, there is no differential, if thats what you meant by changing gear oil.

There is a differential, but it does not have a seperate fluid resevoir.
Keep with manual transmission fluids and not just 75W90 gear oils and you should be fine.
