I think i might make my own, and simply install rubber bushings in the bores and use rubber washers... just parts out of MCmastercarr.
anyone have a used stock mount so i can get Dimensions off of it?

it should put down the power like the Solid ones, just dampen the driveline vibration (kinda like the way those pads you put on the back of brake pads kill the squeal)

Here's the Kokeln unit:

I can't find the price for this unit, but IIRC, it was around $150.00

i'm with andial951 and m danger. can someone confirm that it is the tranny mount that creates that jumpy feeling when going on/off the throttle?

I would think that a failing clutch dampener hub is more likely the cause of the jumpy feeling when going on/off the throttle. (IE: Driveline backlash). But a failing tranny mount may also add to the mix as well...

ya, dont know if this is interconnected, but i was told that my driveshaft bearings were getting old. Would this clutch dampener hub have been replaced with a new clutch? and/or is it even possible that the P/O replaced the rubber clutch with a new crappy rubber clutch when he did the clutch...?

Yes, a failing Transmission Mount will give you a very odd jump feeling on and off the throttle. Especially noteable when you lug the engines. Ask me how I know:

After a weekend autocrossing at Devens. Notice how the top of the mount is no longer connected to the metal frame.

Compared to a new unit

Both sides failed. Driverside is worse. Like one was already failed, and the second let go at the event. The gearshift is now shaking so badly, and the car has a odd movement when driving. Adding it to the winter projects! Planning on filling in the space with Polyurethane as well. Make the whole mount a bit stiffer.

Edge..That is a pretty cool idea. my worry would be that it will not stay stuck to the rubber...but I guess as long as it stays put it does not matter.

Is it possible to change the mount without dropping the transmission? Of course having the tranny supported from below by a jack or something.

Its in there pretty frimly. I didnt jab at it with a screwdriver or anything but I doubt itll come out unless youre bending and twisting the mount like it would never do in use.

Its a pretty common mod in other car circles. Some guys even make whole new mounts out of nothing but poly, but that really only works for front wheel drive style mounts where theyre a big donut style thing, wouldnt work for 944 engine mounts.

I have the Kokeln mount, unless you really like extra trans/gear noise and vibration I'd just get a stock one. Personally, for a street car, I wouldnt recommened it (but I love it on mine )

I'm needing to replace my transmission and I have a feeling the mount is shot. Times like this makes me wish I had access to a CNC milling machine and 100lbs of aluminum.
