Question About to do brakes, a few Q's

Is it worth the extra money to go Jurid as opposed to Mintex? I have Mintex up front, but is spending double going to have that much of an effect on stopping? Or how about Textar? I am going to change the brake fluid as welll. Which ATE should i get. She is a DD, but if a little extra money makes her perform better, its worth it. Thanks everyone.

Here is the link to Clark's Garage as per brake fluid recommendations and the procedure for replacing. Their page on brake upgrades is under construction.

Thanks guys. Don't mean to be a downer, I know how bleed and change my brakes. I was just curious as to the difference in stopping power/longetivity/noise/etc. between the Mintex, priced at $29.00, Jurid @ $73.25 and Textar @ $66.00. All the prices were found on pelican. As I said, I have Mintec up front which are good brakes, they just make noise.
I'd appreciate any info from people who have used the different pads. Thanks all.

I had to toss the Mintex pads on the 83 after just 6K miles. The dusting was so bad front and rear that you could scrape it off with a putty knife. I swapped out to the PBR (Axxis Metal Masters) from Paragon that I have had on the turbo for over a year.. These have worked great on both my cars and are highly recommended, at least by me! The price is hard to beat and they are very low dusting and rotor friendly so far. I have never had them get too hot yet even in serious mountain driving. I will never buy another Mintex street pad...what a waste, mine just plain sucked in every aspect.

I use the ATE Super Blue fluid

think that's becuase they dont have Anti-squeel shims.

thats not a problem for me (sqeek) I think I might have a solution for that.

but anyway.... 29 bucks (I was quoted £21 GBP) is a good deal for me at the moment

What he said.

OE can either be Pagid or Textar, but PBR are definitely a good deal for the money.

I went with OE (not cheap, but I was sure they would fit and fit with the sensors, and I didn't feel like reading too much at that time...). Sqeaked for a day or two only, and not too dusty.

Super Blue fluid is great because, among other things, it is blue and you can see it real well when flushing the system.

Another vote for Axxis. I put them in 5 years ago and got great life out of them. Spent a whole day a Nelson Ledges and took about 40% off them. Still have about 20% life left. To hold up to such use is very impressive. As for brake fluid - just use Valvoline SynPower. It has a relatively high boiling point without the high price tag of so-called racing fluids. If you were racing or taking the car to the track frequently, I would be offering different recommendations. Since you say this is a daily driver, I stand with Axxis and Valvoline. (Same stuff I use)

I've used Axxis pads for many years. They stop well for the street, hold up well, no squeal and minimal dusting.
