Default plastic cowl cover removal

Is there any easy way to remove it without breaking it so I can change the wiper motor

no. That thing is real flimsy and the tape is very strong.

I was wondering if a heatgun would do any good, probably just melt the dang plastic.

If you are lucky you can razor it off underneath, but good luck on something so old an brittle.

If it snaps off what do people do to cover that area up again? I've been thinking of building some sort of screen mesh to cover the area over the battery and fuses because all sorts of dead leaves and crap collects down there when the car is outside - has anyone else done anything like this?

After 20 years of the elements they weather. I bought a new one for like $70 bucks a year ago at www.944online.com.

Yeah that two sided tape is insane, I want to know where to buy a roll of it for around the house stuff. 20 years and I had a hell of a time tearing the cowel off.
