Default Show me your best aftermarket side veiw mirror conversions...

Just looking for some examples (and maybe some "where to find" info) of different side veiw mirrors that some of you may have fit in place of the old flags.

I know all about the 968 swap and like the look of that for a street car but for the track I'm looking for something more in the corner of the window frame. Would really appreciate some detailed pics of that style install.

TIA

I think someone (tifo?) had 935 style mirrors... kind of love/hate thing with those

Longacre makes a cage-mount mirror.

I don't like the way these are mounted but maybe they'll give you an idea for something better.

No experience, but here's a Strosek/Gemballa option:

Certainly not aftermarket but IMO it's hard to beat the look of the 968 mirrors on these cars. Practical, smooth lines, and they don't look like something from a Sports Compact vendor.

Here is a test fit of the 935-esque rear view mirror that was designed to fit the 944 door. I think they may have been made by DP, but there was no manufacturing marks on them and I bought them second hand. I no longer have them, I sold the set to a fellow rennlister.

I think Winslow has something quite special in the way of mirrors.

If memory serves they came off something exotic, BMW M1 perhaps.

The Vitaloni Sebring model mirror as sold by Pegasus looks like the 935 style to me; I intend to get the 935 style for my 81 project car (to go with the 935 style bodywork).

They are $80, can also be had with convex lens.

Anyone already try these?

Cool - I'd been looking for lightweight mirror options. Those flags are heavy!

The 968 CS (manual) mirrors are pretty darn light too (fyi). Not only are the mirrors and housings themselves much lighter than the flags, you can pull the wires and switches out that are no longer needed.

I think all 968 mirrors are polyurethane or fiberglass or something. My mirrors have lost their gloss just like my rocker panels and front bumper. So any 968 mirror will do, just gut the motors.

Wow, that strosek one is $750?!?! No way will I spend that much for a pair of mirrors. I can buy a 944 for that much!

I'm digging this look and I think I found the vendor I am getting them from NGP
