Default New Rotors, old Pads: Bedding procedure?

I know there are tons of threads on bedding in new pads. But, like the title says, I have new rotors and my old (but good) metal master pads. According to Z, it's best to break in new rotors with old pads, so the new rotors don't get too hot (new pads require the heat).

So, how do I break in the new rotors? Right now, I have very weak braking!

you have already driven with the new rotors? The rotors come with a coating on them usually. It took me about 200 miles for the braking to get back to where it should be. I could lock up the rears and not the fronts for the first 50 or so

I've driven home from the mechanic, and to the station this morning. So, is there a special way to remove this coating by braking, or do I just drive and let the pads to their thing?

I usually hose down the rotors with brake cleaner before install. It will wear off eventually on its own. For street pads I wouldnt worry about bedding, just drive and dont use the brakes 100% unless you have to.

I've used the Stoptech bedding method for years, new rotors/old pads, new pads/old rotors, or both new. It has given me a firm pedal everytime after the proper cooling off period...getting new brakes to the place I bed them in can be a bit dicey though! I think the most important thing is after the last bedding pass is drive the car on the freeway for at least 15 minutes without using the brakes.

I think the trick is finding a road where you can go from 60 to 10 without getting rear-ended (or picked up by the police) !

Technically , i belive you should do 5 or so 35-0 stops , stop driving, let the rotors cool completely, then do 5 60-0 stops, let them cool, and take it easy for first 200 miles. Thats what my rotors directions were roughly
