Default CV gaskets?

Amongst the many other parts my mechanic told me to procure for the upcoming clutch job, he added "CV gaskets" (the joints will be repacked while the tranny is out). I don't see such an animal on any of the parts sites I frequent. Is there another name for it? Dealer part, perhaps?

I just rebuild both my rear axles over the weekend.... there's the CV and bearings itself, the axle boot, snap ring, washer behind the CV, and metal keepers that go under the bolts. That's it.

If the CVs themselves are in good shape and he's just cleaning and repacking them, get the boot kits from Paragon. $12.50 each I believe, comes with everything you need including the grease. However I opted for the redline CV grease.

According to the parts & tech reference catalog published by Porsche. There all rear axel assemblies are covered on one page (924,931,944,951,928).

Rear axles for a 928 require a gasket P#930 332 297 00. However, there is no gasket required for rear axles on 944s & 951s. The Axles are different.

The boot kit from Porsche is:

924/S/T(77-88), 944/S (83-88), 951(86) = P# 944 331 903 00

951(87-88)= P# 951 332 901 00

You can go to any dealership and buy it too!
