S2 and turbo dillema
Hey,
Here is my story; I have had an S2 since last november and was looking to sell it before winter so I could get an 89 turbo. I love my S2, but after chipping it and changing the exhaust I have come to realize I'm not going anywhere without a forced induction setup. Just this week I picked up an 86 turbo with 100 000miles for a good deal. The car has lsd and a decent engine that would require little work to make near perfect. The P.O. had authority chips installed and it boosts pretty nicely starting under 3000 rpm. The car is faster than my S2, but would require a lot of work to make as nice body and interior wise So what should I do? Sell both and buy a really nice 88 turbo s/89 turbo or swap out the tranny and engine into my S2 as well as any other better parts then part out the rest of the turbo car and sell the S2 engine and tranny. Sell the S2 and rebuild the turbo? From what I have read using search, the swap isn't all that hard. What would you do? Thanks in advance.

I'd sell both and get what you really want. I would guess that the Turbo will fetch at least $6,000 if its in decent shape, and the S2 another $8,000 or so. Thats gives you a pretty decent amount to work with. For $15,000 you should be able to find pretty much exactly what you want in a Turbo S or 89' Turbo, it may take some looking but its definitely out there. Then again, with $15,000 why not look into a nice 928 GTS or 968.

Why destroy two 944's when they could easily be sold to buy what you want. I would either sell the S2 and fix the turbo up or sell them both and buy a nicer turbo. No need to ruin a running and driving 951 and send its body to the crusher and strip a nice S2 down to put in an older drivetrain. Sell both and get a 951 that your happy with.

thanks for the input, I'm thinking I sell both like most are suggesting. It's just so damn hard at this time of the year. I'm going to have to sit on both cars till next summer...
