Figured out last night that my >5000 rpm hesitation issue was the DME (swapped with another). I'm guessing that a connection is bad or one of the internal components is dead. Here's the deal, it only occurs at WOT above 5k, so does anyone know where to locate the area of the DME that is responsible for this or know how to fix it. The kicker is that when I've plugged in the DME relay jumper (during a DME relay failure) there is no problem. It's got to be in the circuit in the DME that receives information from the DME relay. I'm currently trying to find it thru the maze of circuit diagrams, so I can find it on the board, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

sometimes they just need to be resoldiered . Really just heating up the joints and letting them reset the soldier does it. They seem to rattle loose sometimes. Ive seen hesitations before also when the sensor in the flapper door became corroded/dirty- cleaned it and the throttle cleaned up significantly.

i was planning on resoldering them but do you have any clue where on the board I should look? I know this is a DME issue, I will clean the afm at another time, first I need to fix this DME.

The DME swap was with my car. DME is stock, never opened, no chip mods. We should have plugged Bill's DME into my car to see if the same problem existed.
Maybe next week.....

Sounds like you're having similar issues to what I was experiencing. Take a look at the link that Alfordofchaos posted above, I was able to resolder the pins on the power transistor and so far, 3 weeks later, it hasn't stalled again.

Lets see, you jumper the DME relay and then your original DME works correctly. I would be checking the current draw on your DME unit. Does your DME relay or the DME get warm to the touch?
