I was the one that bought a bunch of that fabric - need to see if I actually have any of the black......I don't think I do.....but I can look. Most of what I got was burgandy and tan.

You can't beat the price. Last time I was checking the only supplier I found was world upholstery and they wanted over $1000.00 for both seats!

True, the leather is not an exact match but at least both front seats match.

Sam, I don't know how much material it would take to do the centers. Leather Seats told me they do their own assembly so maybe if you call them they would tell you.

As far as installation goes, I followed the tutorial that Travis has on his Rennbay.com website. It's pretty much dead on! Just had to purchase some hog ring pliers and hog rings (I decided the angled tip pliers worked better than the straight tipped ones) and a stapler that spreads the staples out as they launch from the gun. The staples are used on the seat back center section as in the pictures and on the seat bottom near the back to keep the leather in place. I also used some 3M spray super adhesive (green can) to help in some areas.

If anyone has some specific questions, feel free to contact me. I'll help as much as I can.

The only thing better than the leather sport seats I have in my 951 would be finding a set of tan Porsche script full manual sport seats! Good score, Sam! If anyone has a perfect set of tan cloth sport seats that would like to swap for power tan leather sport seats, let me know!

Regards,

No problem, Sam. There will only be a minimal charge for the service.

Well I am going to buy the script porsche seats pictured in the 1st post. Although they are nice, black cloth is not going to look right with my door panels so I am going to recover them with the same kit you have. (Have an email into them already) Someone has already requested the script cloth when I pull it off the seats so everyones happy

Awesome! If you want to borrow the stapler and hog ring pliers and rings, let me know and I can send them to you as I probably won't be needing them anytime soon.

Someone mentioned they were worried about wrinkles in the leather from unequal tension. Just about any leather that hasn't been ruined with a silicon based cleaner can be shrunk in the car. Take a new clean sponge with 'distilled' water and dab the area slowly until you can see the area actually start to darken; park the car in the sun and roll the windows up. After the seat has reset clean the area with good old fashioned saddle soap and you be goo to go. Just don't try to speeed it up with a heat gun, that will force too much of the natuaral oils out of the leather making the surface texture rougher. If that doesn't work then you probaly have to reposition some of the hog rings to pull in a slightly different direction. I've watched my FIL do countless interiors for Boyd Coddington street rods and am amazed how leather can be worked to perfection.

Bump. aribop, can I borrow that stapler from you? I got a set of front covers from World Upholstery on ebay, and need to install them. Any hints or tips you'd care to share in hindsight?
Thanks,
E
Pm me about the stapler. I'll obviously pay shipping both ways.
