Default 16" early offset phonedials

Its time for new tires and im thinking of upgrading my 15" phonedials to 16" while im at it.

does anyone know where to get a set of early offset phonedials? assuming the 86 951 had early offset.

Also, should i go 16x7 in front and 16x8 in back, or 16x8 all around

You'll need 16'' Phonedails from a 1986 944 Turbo, but that shouldn't be too hard as they are fairly common.

Stock setup is 16x7 and 16x8, so unless you get lucky you probably won't find a set of 4 16x8s and there may be some rubbing issues in the fronts with 16x8s.

Craiglist, and thesamba.com are a few good places to find them. I bought a set (without tires) last year for $200 and sold them for $360.

For daily use I have been happy with my Fuzion ZR1's - from tirerack.com I paid somewhere around $380 shipped.

The Fuzions impress me and I have tracked these tires on my turbo. Stick quite well and have good wear! I ran 16x7 and 16x8's on my early 944 with 225/50 up front and 245/45's in back (Turbo S specs) and it looked really good. The 16x8's all the way around would be nice though for tire rotations for increased longevity.

El Commondante - There is a small car lot in Elk Point called Fanta-C Auto. They are an authorized Tire Rack dealer. Cory Fanta is the name of the owner. He'll give you a fair price on the Fuzions. 605-356-2711

On my early 944 I have 15" fuchs, 7" on the front and 8" on the back with 215/60/15 all around. I tried putting the rear wheels on the front and the tire was rubbing the fender lip.

"New" PD's? Is there such a thing? $1900 is shocking enough, my set was $550 a couple of years back.

I have a set of 86 951 Phone dials, they are in good shape but could benefit from new paint.

If you keep to lightweight wheels you won't need any suspension upgrades unless you go to heavier wheels or anything that changes the unsprung weight. Suspension upgrades work with any car no matter what wheels you pick. You probably should use the 968 caster blocks if you plan to use a heavier wheel or lower the car. I run 17's with 9's in front and 10.5's in back with no issues; you won't be so lucky with Porsche wheels though; it's all about having the correct offset. IMO throwing a set of heavier aftermarket wheels is about the worst thing you can do to these cars. Stick with a good set of 86 951 PD's or Fuchs in the OE staggered size; they look good and fit well. Be patient, check the classified here and Craigslist and they will show up eventually.

How about these phonedials?, they'r 16x7 and 16x8, old ET and price seems to be right.
Or how about these cookie cutters? I never tought that polishing could make them look good, but it surely does.
