Here's pcar #2 currently at the start of an engine change.

Deni,
Is that the La Bomba you did Mormon Emigrant Trail in last year? I never thought an auto had so much 'spirit', granted it was a downhill run!

Did anyone ever post the starting time and location of the run?

I'm not going to make any of the other festivities but I might hook up for a little of the action when it's in San Jose.

Cheers,

Phil

Looks like I won't be making the run. The strut inserts for the 83 won't be here until Thursday and my son needs the car for work on Sunday. It's absolutely unsafe now with both of them completely pumped dry. I hope to see you guys though on the 10th for the 3rd Skaggs Springs Run. Have a good time and don't let Juan eat too much.

Steve: Yeah, that's the one. Apparently the gears are slightly higher in an auto (someone correct me if i'm wrong). But alas, I let the cam tower gasket go for too long and that was the end of it. Had to get another engine (+ trans) to do the swap. At least I can do the transmission change-over I wanted out of the deal. I'm going to try and get my bro to go on the Sacto run in his E46.

This Friday I'll be in Lodi to do work on the above car and meet you guys in Tracy, Sat. Then I'll continue on that thing Sunday. The other car (#1) needs a clutch & t-belts.

You can't cheat and paste a sig in, bro. Just sign with your name at the end of your post!

Starting location and time: I'm going to test-run the route that Chris laid out tomorrow. I'll hunt for a good meeting point off hwy 13 east of oakland. Expect to be there around 9am. I'll see how long the whole run takes, and I'm assuming we can all hold out until like 1 or 2pm for lunch. We might have to meet earlier but I'd much rather have a late lunch than wake up hella early. Yes, I just said hella.

Serge and Steve, no problem. See you guys on the next one in 2 weeks. Deni, a BMW is more than welcome.

Phil, when I test the route tomorrow I'll try to find a nice stop point close to SJ, and I'll let you know where it is and about what time we should reach there. I'll try to find a nice stopping place every 30 minutes of driving, or major turnoffs, or something.

If someone has a list of the norcal users, can you PM them all and link them to this thread? Now it's REALLY short notice, but I often have nothing to do on Saturdays.

I want to be disappointed, but we've got good attendance for a 1-week's-notice run... See you on the next one.

DAMNIT - I did the ggr autocross #4, it was my first, and I friggin loved it. I promised myself I would go to every autocross from then on. Something very important came up the weekend of ggr #5, so I had to miss it. Then I really told myself I would plan ahead and not miss the next one. And what do I do? I start setting up a run on the same weekend as the autocross.

EDIT: So the ZONE autoX is on saturday, but the GGR one is on sunday, both down at marina. Maybe I can make it after all.
