Value drop when my mint '86 goes over 60,000 miles?

Hey everyone,
I have an absolutely mint 1986 944 NA, it has 57,000 miles on it.
I have been previously told by people on here that it should be worth around $8,000.
My question is, how much of a price decline will the car take if it turns over 60,000 miles?
Thanks!

Well, I bought it for both reasons actually....
It just turned 20 years old and is now a collectors...
Everything is original and in mint condition. The inside looks like it was never driven in (but it has been and a lot of fun too!)
The outside looks new also, all original. The paint is so glossy that I have had people at the Porsche garage ask me what type of wax I used...
I was told that when it hits 60,000 miles it will deduct around $2000 from its value....

bah! Just drive the thing. If it is even worth $8000 at all now I can't imagine another 3000 miles on the clock will drop the value $2000. Besides, not to offend anybody, but this series of cars tends to attract the entry level Porsche owner, or douchebags that simply want to say Hey look at me I drive a Porsche. You will have a very limited market for a "collector" 944 no matter how many miles are on the clock.

I always laugh when I see the "$14,000 NA 944 with only 1200 actual miles or the $24,000 SC with only 800 miles" type of cars. This is great for the one or two people who are looking for such a car. Additionally, cars must be driven to keep the seals etc. in good working order. I had a friend who had a beautiful SC and never wanted to put more miles on it. He did something very stupid one day, ended up crashing the car, and now says..."I'd wish I'd driven the car more". Please drive it and enjoy it. $.02

even if you hit 60k, you've still got a very low mileage 944....enjoy it and keep it in good condition/tkae proper care of it and you'll reward it when the time comes to sell

I have a friend in the whole sale car business in Dallas. He told me once that when a car reaches 65k the value of it drops. It isn't that 65k is some magical number that makes things start falling off. It's just a number that people in the car biz decided makes it harder to resale. Like 100k it's a psychological thing. On 944's though I don't think it really matters. One that old with less than 100k on it is rare.

I say drive it. I'll always have the opportunity to work for more money, but I can't drive a 944 for 20,000 miles and call it work.

My brother bought mint 944s. yes plural. He bought an 84 with the sport suspension in 01 with 32K miles that was stored in a climate controlled garage. he also bought a mint 89 with 40k miles and the rare split rear seat in 04.
Both were purchased for under 8k, so I am not sure where you are getting your 8k from.
I bought a mint 89 944S2 with 54k miles in 04 for under 10k.
IMHO your car is a nice 7, 7500 car now, and will be a nice 7,7500 car when it has 65k miles on it. YMMV.

Bought my 86 with 58k on it 12 years ago.
Now have 63k.
Drive the thing. I don't enough as it is due to time. It is not an investment.
