I tried drilling a 5/64" pilot hole today and I had trouble drilling into the bolt i only got in like 4mm after a lot of drilling (titanium drill), I bought a cobalt drill bit today for hard metal surfaces and I'll see if it works any better.
yeah I don't think I'll use that extractor if it breaks theres no way I'll drill through it, I'm already having trouble drilling the bolt.
I could not find a left handed drill bit at Canadian tire, no on knew what it was.

It sounds like you are being patient. That is good.... If you can get a decent pilot hole going then move up to a drill diameter that is just about equal to the minor thread diameter (the bolt diameter measured at the 'bottom' of the threads). After drilling with that it should be easy to run the proper tap in there and clean out any remaining bolt threads.

I'm no sure how people are breaking extractors -- they are pretty strong. Maybe they are using the electric drill to turn them, but if you're a bit holder, you should be alright.
Anyways, keep at it. Drill slow, but drill true. Once you get the initial hole started, drilling will go faster.
Also, a "drill-out" requires less of a hole for it to work (because of the angle of the surface).
