I'm stripping down an 85 1/2 944 N/a to build a track car out of. We've removed everything from the frame so far except the rear quarters. Anyone know the procedure to get 'em off with out just using a cutting torch and going to work?

I already have everything down to the frame except the rear quarters. So the window is out and everything. It's just the frame pretty much. If anyone has a link to somewhere with a description of how to do it that'd be great.

why do you want them off? if you are puting fiberglass quarters on, it would be better to have them before you start cutting. but the right way is to drill out the factory spot welds.

Thanks, drill out the spot welds, huh? Will do. Actually I will be replacing all the body panels with carbon fiber. Pricey, I know, but ya gotta pay to play right...

If you look closely you should be able to see the spot welds. Any bodyshop supply store should sell spot weld cutters. Blair has been the most popular with my customers. You may also have to use an air chisel (sp?) to separate the seams, just take your time as you will pay later if you get sloppy now.
